On June 2, CPC Early Childhood Learning and Wellness Services completed its annual department-wide professional development day. The day began with an icebreaker followed by supervisors providing presentations or training on the latest developments in the child care and mental health fields. Thank you to Pik Kam So, Director HR, and Suzan Lam, Talent Development Manager for facilitating a workshop on communication across different generations. In the afternoon, ECLW broke out into teams to discuss ways to improve teamwork and communication amongst teams. Finally, the day was ended by an insightful presentation from Dr. Thomas Kui about ways to reach out to the Chinese community regarding mental health, potential barriers, and ways to prevent burnout amongst social workers.
