CPC Commends Mayor and NYC DOE For Expanding Dual Language Pre-K

On February 4, 2019, CPC joined Mayor de Blasio and NYC Department of Education (DOE) Chancellor Carranza to kick off the first day of Pre-K and 3-K for All applications for School Year 2019-2020. They also announced that 47 new Pre-K Dual Language programs will be opening across the City starting School Year 2019-20. The new dual-language Pre-K programs will include languages such as French, Haitian-Creole, Hebrew and Japanese. “CPC commends the Mayor and the DOE for being inclusive of the many diverse communities of NYC. We are excited to continue to provide culturally sensitive and inclusive programming for our low income and immigrant communities during the upcoming school year.” said Director of CPC Childhood Development Services, Mary Cheng.

CPC Holds Inaugural State Advocacy Day

On January 28, 2019, thirty-five CPC staff and community members met with forty NY State legislators during the inaugural “Advancing Our CommUNITY” State Advocacy Day.

CPC called on New York State to make critical investments to address the persistent and emerging needs of the low-income, immigrant, and Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) New Yorkers and to uplift community-based nonprofit providers whose services and programs are often staffed from the very communities they serve.

National recognition establishes the Chinese-American Planning Council, Inc. (CPC) as one of the leading Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) agencies in the country.

[New York, NY] – Chinese-American Planning Council, Inc. (CPC) announced today that the organization has attained Quality Assurance, establishing it as one of the nation’s leading Child Care Resource and Referral agencies (CCR&Rs). The national recognition was awarded by Child Care Aware® of America.
