On January 27, 2024, the Chinese-American Planning Council, partnered with the NYC Child Care Resource Center Consortium (CCRC), and our partner National Financial Network hosted a series of professional development workshops for our family child care providers. Financial professionals from the National Financial Newark and CPC trainers presented on palling for retirement, risk management, business record keeping, and tax filing to help providers understand different types of risks and how to manage them; develop contracts and policies to set up rules and expectations between the program and families; and understand tax deductions and good record-keeping practices for child care programs. We had breakout rooms and answered questions in three languages- English, Chinese, and Spanish to over 160 providers.
