30-Hour Cohort in Chinese: PITC: Responsive Care Giving and Interaction in Childcare Program

This training provides an overview of the basic concepts of early social-emotional growth and
socialization and their applications to the group care context. It addresses the importance of
responsive caregiving, the individualization of care through understanding of infant
temperament, the critical role of family and culture in early identity development, and stages of
emotional development.
This training meets the following OCFS training topic area(s):
(1) Principles of childhood development, focusing on the developmental stages of the age
groups for which the program provides care
(3) Child day care program development
